Théo Poizat Hayat — Handpan Musician & Percussionist
Welcome to my musical universe. I’m Théo Poizat Hayat, a French handpan musician and percussionist based in the South of France. For over 25 years, I’ve explored world music — from Indian tablas to Senegalese djembe, Maghrebi darbuka, flamenco cajón and Cuban bongos. Since 2009, the Handpan has become my central instrument: an acoustic instrument with a crystalline, vibrant sound that invites meditation and inner journey.
My musical journey is fueled by my travels — India, Brazil, Senegal, Morocco, Peru — and encounters with traditional musicians who enriched my artistic language. Today, I perform solo with my 2 Handpans tuned in chromatic scale, accompanied by a looper, sharing my music in concerts, festivals, yoga events, meditations and private performances.
